Who Are We ?

Life is full of surprises

If anyone would have predicted to us that we would :

  • write a book on Greek mythology “The Gods who Played with Dice”,
  • then imagine fictional interviews with our ancient Greek heroes on a dedicated podcast named “ Live from the Underworld “….
  • Finally create a  website also named Greek Mythology : The Gods who Played with Dice”.

Well, if anyone would have forecasted to us or our family, teachers …any of these achievements , we would have most certainly deducted that this person was confused to say the least or had just escaped from a psychiatric ward.

We are ordinary schoolboys : we love video games and we hate homework . We have just turned 13 and at school our favourite subjects are maths and computer science.

Our mother has grown up in Greece and every summer we have been  very privileged to spend time in this beautiful country . Our bedtime stories included all the mythological heroes and we grew up with them. That is how we learned so much about them, it became quickly a competition between us.

When the world went on lockdown, we were trapped in our grandmother’s apartment in Paris with a terrible internet connection. So our adventure into the Ancient Greek mythology and civilisation started at first as a challenge, and also as an escape from boredom.

Amazingly we enjoyed it. The fact that we are twins made it also easier as  we share the workload, the difficulties and of course the fun.

More importantly, we, both, truly believe that in this crazy world it is essential  to share, whatever you can…

For these projects we had to work a lot , we needed to research, to write, to verify and to proofread. We refused any external help as we felt that even if it would have improved the outcome it would not be our words, our work.

Therefore we do apologise profusely for the mistakes and misspellings you might find.

We need to thank our beloved art teacher Eugenia who very generously volunteered to draw all the fantastic illustrations. For the few illustrations that we did , she helped us patiently by teaching us how to draw them.

We hope that you will enjoy our personal recount of these extraordinary stories as well as our fictional interviews of our favourite heroes from Ancient Greece.

Best wishes

From my early childhood I have been interested in art as my mother and father were an art teachers. Taking my first steps in art studio and art school later I finally graduated from the State Pedagogical University, Art and Graphic department in 2003 in Russia.
I have turned my knowledge and inspiration into business working as an art teacher, graphic and interior designer, illustrator and muralist.
I was surprised at first that my pupils would imagined such a big project. And then when I started receiving the texts I became very impressed and quite excited about this opportunity to create illustrations for such fantastic project. I also started to live with the Greek gods, to imagine how they would look like.
Hope you will find it interesting and inspiring and will give you some ideas and vision to create your own project.
